The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Carl Rice cut the ribbon for the public launch of Birmingham Big Art Project. Five shortlisted artists created models or maquettes of their proposed sculptures which are on display at Millennium Point. A Masquerade Ball was held at the Hyatt Regency hotel to raise funds for the Big Art Project. Now that the five shortlisted artists and their ideas are on display at Millennium Point, the Steering Group and its trustees and supporters came together for a night of carnival fun.
